Brazil. Currently, Rede Amazônica's media collection has approximately 500,000 cataloged assets, including short-lived TVs and entire recorded programs.
The upload of files to the cloud is done continuously and, on a daily basis, more than 60 GB of media are reassigned, which allows to maintain the local storage infrastructure, for which they use Snews technology.
During this process, the system keeps all cataloged metadata information in the database, such as the input and output timecode, including low-resolution files for preview (known as Proxies).
Also in this process there is an instance of Quality Control that the MAM tool itself makes available in a control panel where all the processes, transcoding, delivery and archiving are listed for the user. In this way, possible failures or unforeseen situations can be monitored. In addition, the cloud provider dashboard also provides other useful metrics for quality assurance.
Importantly, cloud media archiving has reduced deployment, maintenance, and recovery costs, in addition to the integrated XDCAM/MXF to H264/MP4 media transcoding flow, reducing file size and consequently load time and storage cost.
However, there is no limit to this type of application, as the amount of storage increases with use. In this storage model you can include the entire flow, from ingestion to media archiving, through recording on islands and mobile units.
