International. Ross Video announced the acquisition of Primestream. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Miami, Primestream is known for its media asset workflow solutions that enable the capture, production, management and distribution of media assets.
Its award-winning solutions are used by major international corporations, including Cisco, Microsoft Studios, Verizon Media, USC Annenberg School of Journalism, Nordic Entertainment Group, RSI (Radiotelevisione svizzera), NFL Network, ABP News, and Sun TV, to name just a few.
Primestream solutions are used by customers within several vertical markets, including Enterprise, Digital Media, Sports and Broadcast. Its solutions are designed to solve the unique and increasingly complex creative, commercial and technological challenges in each market. Primestream supports a wide range of workflows for live streams and file-based content, from HD to 4K and VR/360, allowing users to optimize editing, newsroom metadata logging, control room playback, and seamlessly sharing, editing, reviewing, and approving content. before live streaming, automate on-demand playback or publish on a wide range of OTT platforms.
This acquisition, Ross Video's seventeenth since 2009, raises the number of Ross employees above the threshold of a thousand and, to avoid discussion or confusion, Ross CEO David Ross has stated that all Primestream members can be called Ross' thousandth employee!
The acquisition will see Primestream's portfolio and teams led by President/CEO Claudio Lisman and Executive Vice President Namdev Lisman, along with the company's R&D and technical support teams, all transitioning to Ross.
Ross will naturally look to combine its Streamline media asset management solution with Primestream products over time, to create a fully converged production and graphics asset management platform.
