Colombia. The ICT Minister, Karen Abudinen, invited organized ethnic communities to participate in the call for community broadcasters with a differential ethnic focus, uploading their proposals on the microsite provided by that portfolio until Friday, April 16, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.
"With the launch of this call, we will make the voice of these ethnic peoples heard in the country; lower barriers to access to information and move towards a more connected nation, especially in these times of pandemic," said Minister Abudinen.
He added: "We are also making available to the ethnic communities of our country, radio channels for those municipalities and non-municipalized areas where there was an expression of interest and radio spectrum available to provide the service according to the technical analysis carried out by the National Spectrum Agency (ANE)."
The head of the ICT portfolio said that this space will make available a total of 240 stations in 239 municipalities in 31 departments, where the existence of settlements of duly recognized ethnic groups was identified; previously, 671 expressions of interest had been received from different parts of the country.

Schedule
Minister Abudinen explained that, after receiving proposals, from April 26 to May 31, 2021, the evaluation will be carried out. Subsequently, on June 8, the preliminary report and remedies will be published, so that on June 25, 2021, the observations and receipt of responses to corrections will be presented and the final report will be published on July 9.
Requirements to participate
To be an organized community duly constituted in Colombia.
Have domicile in the municipality or non-municipalized area for which it is intended to provide the Community Service of Sound Broadcasting.
Have developed work with the community of the municipality or non-municipalized area in different areas of economic, cultural or social development. Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies
Accredit the ability to bring together the social organizations of the municipality or non-municipalized area to constitute the Programming Board.
Not be incurred in cause of incapacity, incompatibility or prohibition of constitutional or legal order.
Not to be a provider of the Sound Broadcasting Service.
The holder of a concession that has led to the cancellation of the license, may not be a service provider for the term of five (5) years, counted from the date of execution of the respective act.
