Colombia. About 400 stations from the most remote regions of the country such as Chocó, Putumayo, Nariño, Cauca, Guajira, Casanare, Meta, Córdoba, Sucre, Huila, Magdalena, Cesar, Santander and Vaupés, were linked to the Fourth Meeting of community radios, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Connectivity of MinTIC, Iván Mantilla, journalists, representatives of the Federation of Community Media of Colombia (Fedemedios), and congressmen who supported the one-time financial relief bill.
The journalists who conducted the interview addressed on air the issues that concern them and their needs, of which Deputy Minister Mantilla took note to focus technical and human efforts on the resolution of these aspects and thus address the reality that the sector is experiencing.
"One of the main objectives of the minister, Karen Abudinen, is the strengthening of community radio. That is why we are holding our fourth meeting with the same conviction as the first, creating spaces for interaction and strengthening," said Mantilla.
Likewise, the official announced that From the MinTIC work tables are being held with community broadcasters, seeking to generate commitments of national order that aim at the solution of the problems, needs and concerns expressed by the representatives of these media.
Finally, Congressmen Ruby Chaguí, Alejandro Corrales and Gabriel Vallejo pledged to continue defending the sector so that, hand in hand with the National Government, the Legislative advances in tools that address the current reality of community broadcasters.
