StreamS and StreamGuys create live audio partnership

Latin America. StreamS and StreamGuys announced a partnership to provide high-performance, next-generation live audio streaming using fully compliant and standards-based CMAF HLS for low-latency, adaptive bitrate HTTP (HLS) live streaming.

Together they provide a complete end-to-end streaming solution that is reliable, fits large and rapidly growing audiences, and reaches more modern devices with amazing audio quality.

CMAF HLS is the same successful technology that is driving the "wire cutting" that video content providers currently enjoy for OTT and other Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) services. By leveraging the standardized Common Media Application Format (CMAF) container, content providers can reach a wider diversity of devices with a single set of files, resulting in more efficient content delivery, lower streaming costs, and a larger audience.

StreamS and StreamGuys will partner to bring these same benefits to audio content providers, including DTC services and radio stations looking to expand their broadcast presence. With CMAF HLS, these customers can scale more robustly and cost-effectively than with previous-generation streaming protocols, and leverage the latest high-efficiency codecs, such as xHE-AAC and the broader AAC family, to cover everything from high-quality voice to high-quality 7.1 surround sound. The ability to stream extensible metadata in real time along with flawless audio adds greater value for content providers and audiences.

StreamS provides professional audio processing, systems, and coding software, while StreamGuys provides a robust server infrastructure for reliable content delivery. StreamGuys will also provide detailed business analytics and reporting software for audience registration, compliance, and measurement, among other tasks, along with future ad insertion options to support revenue generation.

"Today's audience is investing in expensive automotive digital media devices and panels with many advanced features, which they expect to work. New transmission infrastructure is now needed," said Greg Ogonowski, president of StreamS-Modulation Index. "Live audio streaming has become a big part of the current revenue landscape. Revenue demands reliability, and the competitive nature of the IP audio and live streaming market demands the best possible audio. We offer both."
