Latin America. With more than 300 new features, the company Blackmagic Design presented version 17 of the DaVinci Resolve system. This new version includes HDR color grading, redesigned primary color controls, state-of-the-art Fairlight audio engine with the ability to process 2000 tracks in real time, and dozens of time-saving tools such as the new inspector, clip metadata visualization, and a revolutionary way to organize trays.
DaVinci Resolve 17 is a major program update with more than 100 new features and 200 improvements. The Color module offers innovative features that facilitate the color grading of images with high dynamic range, as well as redesigned controls for primary corrections and a tool called Magic Mask that works using artificial intelligence.
For its part, the Fairlight module provides more ways to select different ways to edit with the keyboard and mouse, in addition to Fairlight Audio Core and FlexBus, two state-of-the-art audio engines that allow you to process more than 2000 tracks. It also includes a metadata clapper with tray splitters, extended waveforms to trim audio, intelligent framing, a unified inspector and dozens of additional functions that streamline work dynamics. In turn, compositions created in the Fusion module can now be used to create effects, titles, or transitions in the Edit and Assembly modules.
DaVinci Resolve 17 includes creative tools for colorists. In addition, bullet tracing and Power Window have been improved, while the Color module offers more options for split-screen curtains, an additional luminance vs. saturation curve, optimized graphical representations, and support for 17-point three-dimensional conversion tables (LUTs).
The new HDR panel allows you to create color circles with custom dimming for specific tonal intervals, to provide greater creative control when making subtle adjustments. These circles include controls for exposure and saturation in each area, in addition to taking into account the chromatic space, in order to achieve more uniform results.
The grid color distortion tool allows you to modify two parameters simultaneously, for example, hue and saturation, or chrominance and luminance. Adjustments are made by dragging control points, thus providing the possibility of achieving gradual attenuation to achieve a sharper and more natural appearance. It's a completely different way of transforming the color in the shots.
It's never been easier to select and track people to make specific adjustments. In this sense, the new Magic Mask function uses DaVinci's neural engine to automatically create masks for the entire body of an individual or certain parts, such as the face or arms. In addition, it includes tools that allow you to make subtle adjustments, add or remove strokes or perform automatic tracking.
