Colombia. On Monday, November 2, 2020, the first national meeting of community radio stations Radio Fest 2020 will be held, a commitment by Minister Karen Abudinen to strengthen and make visible the importance of these media in the Colombian territory.
"Our main objective in this meeting is to train and sensitize the already established community broadcasters and the new sound broadcasting concessionaires on technical issues, competitions for producers and announcers, among other topics of interest," said Minister Abudinen.
This event, the first of its kind to be held in the country, is aimed at the 625 community stations that currently operate in the 32 departments and the 188 viable communities that are in the process of receiving their community broadcaster award by 2021.
What topics will be covered?
Radio Fest 2020 will be held on November 2 virtually through the official site https://radiofest.mintic.gov.co from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Registrations are free and can be made at: https://radiofest.mintic.gov.co
The opening of the event will be in charge of the minister Karen Abudinen, who will explain how the ICT Ministry has been drawing up different strategies to positively impact community broadcasters. Then, throughout the day, participants will receive training on topics such as: What does the academy contribute to community radio?, new technologies at the service of community radio, construction of radio entertainment spaces, among others.
Likewise, Radio Fest 2020 is a space that will serve to:
- Generate and strengthen the links between those who work daily in community stations.
- Offer participants the opportunity to benefit from content, high-level training and activities of interest to Community Broadcasters, led by experts considered leaders and in their fields.
- Promote in the various audiences a better understanding of the reality, scope and role within the development and processes of our territories of those who make radio in the different community stations in our country.
