Dalet Introduced Brio's New IP Capabilities

dalet brioLatin America. Dalet offers media companies an easy transition to full IP production workflows with the latest version of its Dalet Brio ingest and broadcast platform, compatible with SMPTE ST 2110.

Offering maximum flexibility to create and deliver programs and content in transitioning infrastructures, Dalet Brio 3.21 supports higher density with more ingest and playback streams, making it even easier and faster for enterprises to migrate operations to IP without disrupting existing workflows that still rely on SDI.

System administrators who manage media infrastructure will appreciate the ease of configuration, expansive codec support, and approach to managing dual standards without compromising features or full IP migration. Multifunctional IP capabilities with simultaneous support for SDI give business and operational stakeholders greater flexibility when producing, managing, and distributing content on-premises or in the cloud.

"Unless you're starting from scratch, the transition to IP doesn't happen immediately. Our customers need to continue with their previous SDI workflows while transitioning to IP. It's a delicate balance," said Jérémy Krein, product manager, Dalet Brio. "The Dalet Brio platform is designed to provide our customers with a practical, flexible and cost-effective solution for transitioning all their operations to long-term IP environments, supporting all processes, from media management and workflow orchestration to news and archive production."

Dalet Brio provides robust support for the production of content distributed across multiple platforms, as well as a variety of internet streams, including SRT, RTMP, and NDI, lending media companies nearly unlimited freedom to create and distribute content.

Standards driven
Dalet Brio supports SMPTE ST 2110 UHD workflows and SDI standards, allowing media installations to invest in an IP infrastructure at their own pace without disrupting current operations. Dalet Brio is "IP-Ready certified" and is now part of the JT-NM Tested Program to validate compatibility with ST 2110 and NMOS, further demonstrating Dalet's commitment to open and widely supported standards for IP workflows. In addition, Dalet has recently joined the SRT Alliance, which optimizes video streaming performance even on unpredictable networks.

On the horizon
Upcoming enhancements planned for 2020 on the Dalet Brio platform include support for AWS Cloud workflows, ingestion of SRT and RTMP streams from linked unmanaged IP networks, as well as simultaneous production of MPEG-Dash in production S3 and MXF. These additional features will allow remote production teams to have a cloud-based end-to-end IP workflow for video contribution directly to dalet Brio's server, making content immediately available within the newsroom for review, editing, or playback.
