Latin America. ARRI reported that Orbiter, its new versatile LED device, will soon be available to its customers worldwide, after conducting a large number of field tests since its launch in September 2019 and receiving comments and suggestions about the device and its features.
In view of these results, the green light has been given to the serial production of Orbiter. As of today, shipments of the first units to customers are being made.
Orbiter is manufactured at ARRI's lighting plant in Stephanskirchen, Germany. Previously, a close network of subsidiary companies in the region had already been established with the experience and know-how necessary for the production of the SkyPanel. This network now also serves as an essential component for the production of the Orbiter, not only to meet manufacturing volumes but also due to the group's commitment and awareness regarding the ARRI quality standard.
For the assembly and evaluation of the Orbiter, a completely new production concept has been developed, with an improved and comprehensive testing configuration. A high level of process automation that ensures stable quality standards, combined with experienced personnel and the necessary flexibility allows ARRI to continue developing and manufacturing its products in Germany.
In addition to the core element of ARRI Spectra, the innovative new lighting engine, a wide range of accessories is now available with the shipment of the Orbiter, making it an even more powerful and versatile tool. Its ability to easily attach and change a variety of optics via its QLM fast mount allows the Orbiter to transform into different types of heads. In addition, the new LiOS Lighting Operating System will now be available and programmed within Orbiter devices. This system not only offers the user many features, but also a modern and simple interface to the present and will also continue to develop it to meet the needs and demands in the future.
Orbiter comes with a 3-year extended warranty as well as 5 years for electronic parts and 10 years for spare parts and is available in ARRI silver and blue as well as black.
