Study reveals shortage of human talent for the audiovisual sector

Colombia. The results of a study of human capital gaps indicate that there is a shortage of qualified human talent to hire the staff you need in three sectors, including audiovisual.

This study was carried out by the Ministry of Labor, with the support of the Sena, the Network of Regional Labor Market Observatories (Ormet Network), the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) and sectoral allies such as the Ministry of Culture, ANDI, Colcob, Bpro, national institute of Metrology and Productive Colombia.

This finding is also supported by the study "Talent shortage" carried out by the firm Manpower Group, where 54% of employers in Colombia, externalize the difficulties in finding staff with the skills they need, to supply the most required jobs in companies.

30 productive sectors of the country were studied and the results of the first three sectors were delivered, which identifies the main differences between the productive sector, versus workers or job seekers and the education and training sector, in order to establish public policies to close these human capital gaps and improve employability, productivity and economic growth.

Job prospects in the audiovisual sector: What trends are expected in the coming years?
The study found that trends such as platforms for the development and post-production of content, augmented reality technologies, digital video composition, use of virtual reality and audiovisual production of streaming, will demand new skills for employment in the audiovisual sector.

The main future training needs are: audiovisual digital communicator, set editor, actor coach, web photography technician, analytics manager, programmer, 3D modeling technician, audiovisual app creator, new media producer, scriptwriter, augmented reality technician.

It was determined that another of the main gaps for the sector is the training in functional and technical English, as well as the commercial relationship and the use of ICT.
