CNTV delivered resources for 19 new TV programs

fondo cntvChile. For the first time in its 28-year history, the CNTV Fund award ceremony was held online through the CNTV's website www.cntv.cl and social networks, Facebook and Youtube.

The president of the National Television Council (CNTV), Catalina Parot, led the ceremony highlighting the complex situation that the country and the world are experiencing as a result of the Covid-19 health emergency, highlighting the role of television at this juncture.

"In these difficult times of pandemic, in which we have all been confined to our homes, in which more than 3 million children are without classes, TV has been the most important means through which we have been informed, entertained and accompanied," said the president of the institution. He added: "Many voices anticipated the end of free-to-air TV, however, in these difficult times, its importance as an identity former and transmitter of values has been strengthened, as evidenced by the more than 7 hours that Chileans spend today in front of the television."

Regarding the CNTV Fund, he pointed out that "for many this Fund may be unknown, but if I tell you about the series 'Los 80', 'Violeta se fue a los cielos' or '31 minutos', projects that were awarded by the CNTV Fund, you can understand the importance it has had over the years to contribute stories that have made us shed more than a few tears or laugh as a family through open TV".
