Latin America. 5G Americas, association of the wireless industry and voice of 5G and LTE in the Americas, and the Regional Technical Commission of Telecommunications, Comtelca, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement between both entities.
The objective of the agreement is to establish mechanisms and procedures for the exchange of information and experiences between the two organizations, with a view to strengthening the mission and objectives of each party and supporting the common effort to promote the development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the Americas.
Specifically, the agreement provides a framework for technical cooperation and research on matters of mutual interest, and the joint development of new programs for the promotion of ICTs in the region.
"We are extremely pleased to announce this opportunity to work together with an entity with the track record and recognition of Comtelca. We know that their contribution is fundamental in the construction of consensus and dialogue in the region, a key aspect in a global industry such as information and communication technologies, in which integration and harmonization are decisive to connect all people. We hope that, from the exploration of synergies between both entities, we can add value and benefit the entire sector," said José Otero, Vice President of 5G Americas for Latin America and the Caribbean.
"In Comtelca we want to be a reference in the use and exploitation of telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICT), as well as contribute to the harmonization of the use of radio spectrum in all our countries, through a promotion of exchange of experiences and cooperation with the rest of the digital ecosystem. It is for this reason that integrating an actor like 5G Americas within our discussions will allow us not only to know the latest developments of 5G, but the successes and failures in other latitudes and to be able to make the decisions that are most convenient in socio-economic and productive development of our region, "explained Allan Ruiz, Executive Secretary of Comtelca.
