Pay TV signs agreement to extend TV Educa Chile broadcast

tv educa chile logoChile. More than 20 cable and satellite television companies have signed an agreement to extend the transmission of the national educational channel TV Educa Chile over the coming months, thus adding to the decision taken earlier by the open television channels grouped in Anatel.

This was announced by the National Television Council, articulator of this educational signal that managed to unite all Chilean television for the benefit of the more than three million children in the country who do not have face-to-face classes due to the health emergency.

"As the National Television Council, we want TV Educa to be accessible through various platforms in order to ensure the greatest coverage of homes throughout the country. That is why the broadcast made by pay and satellite television companies is essential to meet this objective and we appreciate the effort they make to continue transmitting this signal that has been so valued by schoolchildren who are without face-to-face classes due to the health emergency, "said the president of the CNTV, Catherine Parot.

"Today in Chile, approximately 60% of households have pay TV and the fact that these companies extend their broadcast commitment facilitates the connection to the TV Educa Chile signal," he added.

In turn, Claudia Bobadilla, executive president of Acceso TV (a union that brings together Claro, DirecTV, Entel, Movistar and VTR), indicated that "we are happy to continue with the transmission of TV Educa Chile through cable and satellite television signals during the extension of this period of constitutional exception, arriving with educational and family programming that has allowed to support in these painful moments the learning processes in children of more than 3.4 million households in the country."
