Colombia. The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, extended the deadline for interested parties to continue sending their expressions of interest corresponding to the allocation of concessions for community broadcasters with a differential ethnic focus in order to provide more spaces for participation to ethnic communities.
"This is a call that has had great acceptance from the communities because to date we have received 521 expressions of interest from different regions of the country, so we have decided to extend the deadline for more ethnic communities to join and participate in this process until July 3, 2020," said Minister Karen Abudinen
The award will begin with the current stage of expressions of interest and the preparation of the respective technical studies that will serve as the basis for determining the rules and conditions that will govern the objective selection of the awardees.
The process is available for the entire national territory, thus ratifying the policy of the ICT Minister, Karen Abudinen, to continue strengthening community media, recognizing them as a tool that consolidates national democracy and facilitates regional development.
Among the requirements that must be met by those who express their interest in participating in the call for the allocation of concessions of community broadcasters with a differential ethnic focus, are: being an organized community whose domicile is the municipality or territory for which it is postulated, having the capacity of congregation in front of the community and being able to accredit its experience in community work.
The deadline for sending the expressions of interest will be until July 3, 2020 through the form provided in the link: https://cutt.ly/gyxxbtN. It is important that the senders indicate the municipality for which the media would provide the service.
