Latin America. As an investment to give a break to the audiovisual industry in times of impact by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, Karen Abudinen, presents the country with the definitive list of participation of 5 calls for multiplatform content productions for a total value of $ 23,887 million, about US$6.4 million.
The final document, supported by resolution No. 442 of June 19, 2020, includes contributions from the 321 observations made by interested parties to the draft of the participation list, published two weeks ago, when the minister held a meeting with spokespersons of the colombian actors guild to listen to their concerns about inactivity in the midst of the quarantine and the need to seek immediate actions to reactivate the sector.
The 5 calls inject resources from the newly created Single Fund for Information and Communications Technologies, FUTIC, to the production of multiplatform content, thus launching a definitive impulse for micro, small, medium and large audiovisual producers, as well as organized ethnic communities that include indigenous, Afro-descendant, black, rom, raizales and palenqueras, as well as for local or non-profit community TV media.
In total there are 91 stimuli that will be granted to finance the complete process of realization that includes pre-production, production and post-production in the genres of fiction, documentary, animation and chronicle in web series.
The period for submitting proposals will be between June 25 at 8:00 a.m. and July 3 at 5:00 p.m., date on which the platform provided for this purpose on the ministry's page on the microsite 'Convocatorias tv 2020' will be disabled.
The five calls are distributed as follows:
