Colombia. The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá relied on VSN to ensure the integration of its technological solutions with a complete and renewed news production system used daily by hundreds of students and prepared to work in multiplatform environments, different video formats and various sources of content intake.
The Pontificia Javeriana University of Bogotá brings together art, technology, information and communication in the Centro Ático since 2010, an innovative scenario of multidisciplinary convergence in which VSN's media management and news production solutions were integrated for the use of students.
The key central system of the project was VSNExplorer MAM, an essential tool to meet the specific needs of flow customization, permission hierarchy systems, multiformat environment and integration capacity with third-party systems. Thanks to this, the solution provides the Attic Center with content management adapted to the requirements of the center.
In addition to the installation of Media Asset Management, the project also featured a complete upgrade of the news production system. In particular, hardware and software were renewed through the installation of concurrent licenses of Ross' NRCS Inception system for the creation of ladders and news (either for traditional broadcast or through social networks), VSNLivecom as a studio playout to automate the production room and control the input and output channels; and the VSN Newsconnect web plugin for NRCS, 100% HTML5, which allows you to control from the NRCS interface the advanced functionalities of the VSNExplorer PAM and MAM modules, and the VSN Wedit video web editing system.
Thanks to the complete integration in a simple HTML5 web interface and a better integration with social networks and third screens, the Javeriana University has today the necessary technology for its students to learn to use advanced news production tools similar to those they will find when they finish their studies in a 100% digital environment.
