Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, after the corresponding verification of requirements, authorized the restart of activities of the companies Claro, Entel and Telefónica for the installation of services, attention to breakdowns, office work, monitoring centers and call centers.

The authorization was given after the concessionaires of public telecommunications services complied with presenting the necessary documentation that includes their reactivation plan, protocols, among others, which allowed to prove that they are prepared to resume their activities, as provided by the sectoral guidelines and the corresponding health protocol.

The information entered is considered as an affidavit and may be verified and contrasted by the MTC, the Ministry of Health, or another competent entity.

It is important to emphasize that, at this stage, the ERM will only approve the resumption of activities of public service concessionaires with valid enabling titles. Dealers may request the resumption of their activities by email [email protected]

Health protocols
The sanitary protocol for the prevention of Covid-19 in telecommunications services, establishes that for the attention of maintenance or repair work at the home of customers, operators must present themselves with their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves, glasses, masks, alcohol gel, covers shoes and waste bags, mandatorily.

It also points out that before entering the customer's home, the staff must spray disinfectant solution (water + bleach) to the soles of their footwear; maintain at all times a distance of at least 1.5 meters from the client and disinfect their equipment and tools before and after entering the house.

Actions during the delivery service
For home delivery of equipment or chips, it has been established that, every day, at the beginning and end of the day the vehicle used for this service must be cleaned and disinfected. Likewise, staff must use PPE on a mandatory basis at all times, especially during the time it takes to interact with the client.

The protocol also specifies that during the delivery, the staff must not enter the customer's home, prioritizing the deposit of the product at the door of the home.

In both cases, the personnel in charge of the tasks must belong to the company.
