Mexico. Canal 23, Canal de las Artes, is a television station specializing in education and artistic dissemination in Mexico. The signal is generated in the facilities of the National Center for the Arts, Cenart, an institution that launched in 2001 the Distance Artistic and Cultural Education Program which is currently on the air for six hours a day and is transmitted through one of the satellite channels of the Edusat network.
In the first stage, the Arts Channel began to manage its media with Igson MAM, an advanced multimedia and metadata manager that allows the qualification, classification and segmentation of content
Soon it will transmit for 24x7 in HD, for which it has relied on Igson PlayNow Plus for the technological update of its workflow and to transmit uninterruptedly.

The primary need of the channel was to have a compact tool that would allow it to transmit 24 hours a day with the possibility of generating graphics and characters all in a single computer and also integrate the Igson MAM system to organize in a more comfortable way the entire average of the channel.
The transmissions in a first stage will only be canned programming, but it is planned that in the future there will be live programs so with Igson PlayNow Plus they will be able to do it without the slightest complication, thanks to the Live Source application included in the suite. In this particular case, Channel 23 will be able to capture up to two signals per SDI/HDMI/NDI so it can add unlimited live events to its programming pattern.
With the Igson Graphics application you can do the complete and professional branding of your channel. Another of the needs that the channel had was to be able to transmit content in HD, with a playout that would allow it to make an automatic conversion without having to convert all its media from SD to HD. With Igson PlayNow Plus they have the automatic conversion in their playback so they streamline the workflow by eliminating double tasks in the editing area.
The channel has the need to organize all the media by different categories that the user can add from Igson PlayNow and from Igson MAM. They get the material organized and at hand in case it has to be scheduled even at the last moment.
The agility of working with a database with the "Hot Folder" option is essential for workflows such as those of Channel 23 and its other outputs such as online courses and Interface, since it may be that one to several editing computers that are communicating in network to your NAS can deposit the material and have it available at the moment to add it to the playlist.
It is a channel focused on culture and the arts, for which it is necessary to maintain the average of the channel 100% organized, sectioning the material by blocks, programs, seasons and categories in which the ages to which the courses, documentaries and programs are directed can be chosen.
So with Igson MAM that task is much more fluid since they can add all this information in one or several multimedia elements at once. They can also occupy the functions of virtual segmentation to separate by blocks those long-term videos that they have in the channel.
