Latin America. Blackmagic Design launched the new Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR, a converter with two on-screen indicators, HDR compatibility, monitor calibration and 33-point 3D LUT that has been specifically designed for the film and television industry, in order to take advantage of the advantages offered by modern monitors, such as the Apple Pro Display XDR model.
The Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR model allows you to monitor content on computer equipment with a DisplayPort connection and monitors such as the new Pro Display XDR. It also offers the possibility of viewing two graphic representations simultaneously, such as the waveform, the chromatic components, the vectorscope or the histogram. It is ideal for broadcasters and film studios that require professional and economical equipment to control the colorimetry of the images.
In addition, it features a sleek design with an LCD screen to monitor the signal and modify settings. The front panel includes various controls, a color display to view sources, audio meters and signal format indicators. It also allows you to control various settings, such as reference modes and brightness on the Pro Display XDR monitor.
The rear has a 12G SDI connection with four links that support HD, UHD and 8K formats. It also has two DisplayPort connections for monitors of common computer equipment and a USB-C port for the new Pro Display XDR. On the other hand, the integrated processor provides the assurance that the font form factor will conform to the resolution of the connected DisplayPort monitor. Alternatively, the built-in pixel mode allows you to view HD or 4K images in their original definition. It is even possible to transmit using the methods of image subdivision (2SI) or division into quadrants (Square Division).
The Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR offers everything you need to carry out processes with high dynamic range content. Simply connect a compatible Pro Display XDR or DisplayPort monitor to monitor these types of signals. The PQ static metadata formats in the VPID identifier are processed according to the ST2108-1, ST2084, and ST425 standards.
It includes the same 33-point three-dimensional conversion tables used in the film industry. You can also load two other independent ones and select them from the front panel.
All 12G SDI inputs have derived outputs to connect other equipment. Also, thanks to the possibility of using HD, UHD and 8K sources, this device is ideal for the film and broadcast industries. The converter supports the following frame rates: 50, 59.94 and 60 f/s in 720p; 50i, 59.94i and 60i in 1080i; 23.98 to 60 f/s in 1080p, 1080PsF and 2160p; 23.98p to 60p in 2K and 4K DCI; and 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 50 and 59.94 in 8K 4320p. On the other hand, this model allows to process transmitted contents through the method of subdivision of images (2SI) or division by quadrants (Square Division), which facilitates the visualization of 8K sources on any monitor. In addition, it provides support for 3G SDI signals of level A and B, as well as YUV and RGB formats.
