Mexico. Bringing the most recent developments of Avid to professionals in the broadcast, audio and video industries is the objective of various activities carried out by the company in Mexico City. Described as a success, in this series of events only some of Avid's new products were shown, prior to others that will be launched within the framework of NAB Show 2020, said Ángel Ylisastigui, Marketing Manager for Latin America of the company.
This series of events began with the Avid Pro Audio Tour, which was organized in collaboration with the Mexican distributor Vari Internacional, and where more than a hundred professionals could learn about the advantages of the S1 control surface. This training—led by Omar Martinez, Avid's professional audio application specialist—also showcased the top ProTools 2020 apps, Dolby Atmos, MTRX Studio, and Avid Link.
"The event of the Centro Cultural España was a success, since there were more than 150 people who attended, all of them industry professionals and everyone was delighted with the console, the Avid S1 although we did not have an MTRX Studio present, we talked about the new product that will be coming out in March and they were very impressed with the characteristics of the interface. "
On the S1 control surface, he said: "The Avid S1 has been very well received. There are already pre-orders to dispatch. We know that it will have a very big impact not only in Mexico but throughout Latin America. It can be used by people who are starting out in engineering to professionals who have been in this industry for a long time; it is a product that is small, easy to handle and you can grow it. You can put several units together with each other and make a complete console."
The next event was held with the distributor Artec, in which the main operational advantages of MediaCentral Cloud UX were shown to professionals from the main broadcast companies in the country. First-hand testing was also conducted with developments such as MediaCentral Publisher, X-news and Make TV.
"The training with Artec went very well for us. We had representation of all the big players in the Industry, such as Grupo Imagen, Televisa, TV Azteca, Canal 11, everyone was present at the presentation made by Imanol Zubizarreta —senior specialist of Technological Solutions of Avid—. But the meeting was very good, with a lot of feedback, all the attentive people and a lot of interest, many questions, so we are very happy with the call and with the participation of the public," Ylisastigui explained.
Subsequently, in the facilities of the Fonoteca Nacional and in conjunction with Vari Internacional, the new official version of the Venue 6.2 software update was presented, which is characterized, said the executive, by features such as workflow for two simultaneous operators; custom 48-fader designs for all models; 48 VCAs on all models; and 48 Mute Groups on all consoles.
Finally, Avid participates in Sports Summit MX 2020, which takes place at the Citibanamex Center on February 26 and 27, and where Avid will show the main features of its Maestro Live and Maestro Análisis solutions. "We are going to present our graphics solutions for sports we invite all the public to attend and who know the advantages for sports," said the executive.
