Colombia. The Communications Regulation Commission, CRC, took possession of the new Commissioners who will integrate the Communications Session and the Audiovisual Content Session, which formed the Single Regulator of the ICT, Postal and Audiovisual Content Sector.
With the enactment of the ICT Sector Modernization Law, Law 1978 of 2019, the CRC evolved and became the Sole Regulator of network providers and services of Internet, telephony, television and radio, postal service and audiovisual content.
In accordance with the provisions of Law 1978 of 2019, the CRC is now composed of two Sessions: the Communications Session, composed of the Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, who can delegate to the Deputy Minister of Connectivity and Digitalization and four commissioners; and audiovisual content, made up of three more commissioners.
During the Act of Possession, held this Monday in the city of Bogotá, Paola Bonilla Castaño and Nicolás Silva Cortés, were integrated as Commissioners of the Session of the Communications Commission of the CRC, along with Commissioners Carlos Lugo Silva and Sergio Martínez Medina.
Likewise, Ernesto Paul Orozco Orozco and José Fernando Parada Rodríguez, joined, as new Commissioners of the Audiovisual Content Commission Session, Commissioner Mariana Viña Castro.
To establish the new structure and staffing plant, the CRC, under the direction of its Acting Executive Director, Zoila Vargas Mesa, supported the selection processes carried out in a transparent manner by the Administrative Department of the Public Function and the National University.
