Colombia. Until January 20, 2020, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, extended the date to receive comments on the preliminary report on the evaluation of proposals for the process of allocation of concessions of community broadcasters, in order to guarantee the participation of stakeholders.
The publication of the final report will take place on February 13 and there will be defined the proponents authorized to participate in the process of allocation of concessions.
On November 15, the opening of the polls with the proposals was held in the facilities of the entity, where a total of 706 proposals were received by the organized communities.
Currently, Colombia has 627 community stations that provide a social service and with this process, more municipalities will be reached with this type of media that strengthen different cultural identities and democracy, in addition to helping to solve local problems. In this way, barriers to access to information will be reduced and progress will be made towards a more connected and equitable country.
