Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, awarded 30 new frequencies to provide broadcasting service in nine regions of the country, with the aim, among others, of allowing a greater offer and diversity in information and entertainment content.
The good pro of sound broadcasting includes FM (Frequency Modulated) and OM (Medium Wave) in 12 locations located in Apurímac, La Libertad, Moquegua, Áncash, Ayacucho, Cusco, Lambayeque, Piura and Junín; for an amount of S/1'811.808.
In this way, the towns of Andahuaylas, La Joya, Asquipata-Morcolla-Querobamba, Huanta, Sallique, Quillabamba, San Pedro de Cajas, Olmos, Calacoa-Cuchumbaya, Tambogrande, among others, will have radio stations that will allow them to stay informed and promote greater connectivity.
The second public broadcasting tender had a total of 55 frequencies offered, of which 30 frequencies were awarded to provide the sound broadcasting service. The localities with the highest demand during the contest were La Joya (Arequipa), Andahuaylas (Apurímac) and Huaraz (Áncash).
The General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications (DGAT) of the MTC was in charge of the award process.
