Latin America. Ready for action, the new DEH-1 Digital Encoder Head is the latest addition to the ARRI Camera Stabilizer System range. Specifically designed to operate the Remote Stabilized Head (SRH-3) remotely, the DEH-1 is a fluid head that interacts with any Mitchell flat-base tripod or stand.
Robust and easy to operate, the DEH-1 features reliable construction and precision engineering, making it ideal for a variety of applications from broadcast to feature films to documentary shooting. Camera operators will find that the application of the traditional fluid head is intuitive and straightforward. The adjustable drag system allows extremely precise horizontal and vertical panoramas. The DEH-1 is a smart alternative to sophisticated hand wheels or the joystick.
The new digital encoder head can be seamlessly integrated into broadcast productions and also comes available with a full set of Master Grips (focus and zoom) or with an OCU-1 unit combined with the master grip zoom with switch. The LBUS protocol in particular allows the Master Grips or OCU-1 to connect to the DEH-1 with just one cable, allowing for easy setup.
The DEH-1 also connects directly to the SRH-3 remote control via a single LBUS cable. All values and parameters of the DEH-1, Master Grips and OCU-1 are directed via the SRH-3 remote control touchpad. The entire system can be controlled centrally using a single device.
It features a flat deck with holes at the top, complete with multiple threaded holes to install a monitor or accessories. Fluid drag in both vertical and horizontal pan mode are Cartoni's patented fluid drag modules in seven steps, modified to ARRI specifications. The two telescopic pan bars have two sliding counterweights to compensate for the weight of the coupled master grips or OCU-1 unit. The DEH-1 comes in sets for either right-handed operators or left-handed operators.
Since the DEH-1 comes with its own range of compatible devices and accessories, all designed and manufactured by ARRI using LBUS protocols, ARRI ensures smooth workflows as well as permanent improvements in both support and performance.
