Latin America. Optimo Primes represents a long-awaited step in the evolution of the professional optics of the Company Angenieux, capturing the look of the firm in a complete set of premium lenses.
After being screened for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival, held between May 14 and 25, Optimo Primes was presented this weekend at the Cine Gear fair in Los Angeles.
Designed to give today's film artists the freedom to work on the largest canvas possible, Optimo Primes offers a full-frame image size of 46.5mm with a constant high of 1.8 t. All focal lengths provide maximum flexibility with fully interchangeable mounts, including LPL, XPL, PL, Canon EF, Nikon F and Panavision XL. Designed as smart lenses, Optimo Primes will support both Cooke/I and Arri LDS, boasting the common size and position of gears across the 12 lens set.
Focal lengths for Optimo Primes include 21mm, 28mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm and 135mm, for initial production of 6 lenses scheduled for delivery in 2020. The complete set of 12 lenses will include these 18 mm, 32 mm and 100 mm, which will be delivered in 2020, and 24 mm, 60 mm and 200 mm, completing the set, in 2021.
