Mexico. In follow-up to the bilateral coordination work between Mexico and the United States on radiocommunications and other issues of mutual interest on telecommunications, a delegation from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Department of State of the United States of America attended the facilities of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) to hold working meetings with officials of the regulator, of the Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) and the Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Telecommunications (Promtel).
The two-day bilateral meeting had as one of its main objectives to seek solutions to facilitate the operation of radiocommunication systems free of harmful interference along the common Border Mexico-United States, as well as to discuss the use of the radio spectrum between both countries in the 600 MHz bands, 700 MHz, 806-824/851-869 MHz and 2.5 GHz.
Through these types of meetings, the IFT maintains fluid communication and collaboration with its U.S. counterparts, which allows it to give effective attention to the challenges arising from the operation of telecommunications and broadcasting services along the border between the two countries.
