NIDO, space to think about the audiovisual industry in Colombia

Colombia. Within the framework of the FICCI, the National Television Authority, ANTV, in addition to assisting in support of regional channels and public television nominated for the India Catalina awards, organized the First Convention of the Audiovisual Industry in Colombia, NIDO.

Under this new project, the space was opened for reflection and discussion of different topics, which was inaugurated by Mariana Viña Castro, director of the ANTV, who stressed that the authority "has bet on the challenge of the realization of diverse contents and recognizes in this festival an unbeatable meeting of creativity and audiovisual talent of Colombia".

Then the panel session began with the 'Audiovisual Archive as a monetization strategy', moderated by María Camila Villamizar Assaf, member of the National Television Board (JNTV). The panel on the indigenous audiovisual exhibition continued, an important participation since for the first time the FICCI, in its 59th version, hangs a backpack loaded with audiovisual fruits made from and by indigenous thought, which constitutes a historical milestone in the recognition of narratives of the Original Peoples.

National experts Dago García, Juana Uribe, María Fernanda Campuzano and María Paula Martínez, discussed 'Where are we going? The new audiovisual landscape', highlighting the ways of making open television, the importance of public and private television coexisting in the same ecosystem, the oversize of the reality achieved by marketing and the lack of supply for children's television.

The second day revolved around the Over The Top (OTT) platforms, production for children's television, transmedia content production, good practice manuals and calls. The CRC spoke of audiovisual media in a digital environment and stressed that the digitalization process does not only change the production and editing process, but the business model.

In one of the sessions Ernesto Orozco, member of the National Television Board (JNTV), who together with Rodrigo Mazón of Netflix and Ariel Griffouliere of Movistar Play, reflected on the opening of OTT's in Latin America, the importance of the region for these platforms and how they make the creation industry grow more and more.

The meeting ended with the launch of the calls for independent producers, between the ANTV, the Ministry of Culture and Señal Colombia.
