Peru. Peruvian publishing house, Grupo La República Publicaciones, has implemented the scalable storage platform EditShare XStream EFS and Flow, the media asset management solution as the foundation of its new multimedia news business.
With plans to add distribution to standard linear channels in 2019, Grupo La República Publicaciones has leveraged EditShare to make the successful leap from a classic newspaper to a multifaceted content operation, building a future-proof infrastructure to expand its business.
Alfieri Noce, Technical Director of R&D, commented, "EditShare was the platform that could manage all kinds of assets that we handle in a single workflow - video, audio, still images, marketing content, administrative documents with integrated tools to organize the access and flow of content in the different departments. With much of the staff working in both print and multimedia, having a single system to work with was key to supporting our expanding business and, more importantly, the new roles journalists and production staff took on."
He added that "EditShare also allows us to easily scale the operation as needed. Right now, we are planning the launch of RTV, the TV channel for La República. This will launch with the same EditShare infrastructure that our multimedia and print news operations use, allowing teams to continue sharing content and stories using a system and a set of tools."
EditShare provides the fundamental basis for Grupo La República Publicaciones to prepare and distribute its news content. All news content, cables and camera footage is ingested via Flow directly to the EditShare XStream EFS storage platform with automatic transcoding performed during delivery.
Producers and journalists use Flow to navigate assets, even while supplying, selecting, and taking the storyboard for news production. Advanced EditShare XStream EFS project sharing allows Adobe editors to collaborate on story development, with all metadata and asset tracking managed by Flow.
