International. The renowned Spanish director of photography Alfonso Parra, will be participating in the 2018 version of the Cine Gear fair to give a talk about his experience using Sony's Venice camera, of which he highlights far exceeds the fundamental parameters for the image.
He assures that for his work he appreciates of the cameras some fundamental aspects for the image, such as, "the texture, the reproduction of the color, especially the skin tones, and the dynamic range, that is, the amount of detail that can be captured both in the highest lights and in the darkest shadows. It is these parameters that determine me to choose one camera or another to work with."
The expert confirmed that "Sony's Venice camera satisfies these parameters at a very high level, especially when it comes to color, noise and texture. Venice breaks all the ties with the broadcast world of Sony's previous cameras and bets on an image where aesthetics is a fundamental value, hence the results of our tests already have a very cinematic appearance".
"The camera allows me to shoot in any format with different resolutions, from the most conventional HD to 6K, thanks to a full frame sensor of size 36x24mm. This larger size allows me to have more texture, especially on the skins, as well as less noise in the image and better resolution."
He added that "without a doubt, it is already a fact that we are going to use full frame sensors for our films, in that, the Venice is already a camera of the future. In addition, it is designed so that the sensor can be changed in the camera without complications when substantial improvements of these appear."
His talk will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 11:30 a.m. at Paramount's studios in Hollywood, California.
