IFT published study on radio and TV consumption

Mexico. In order to know the consumption habits among young people, the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, presented the results of the Qualitative Study consumption of radio and television content by adolescents.

The objective of this study was to explore the relationship established by Mexican adolescents with the media, especially radio and television, and the audiovisual content accessed through them and other media such as the Internet. 

Two aspects make it particularly relevant to know more about this relationship. The first has to do with the centrality that media and audiovisual content acquire in contemporary society, thanks to the development of new devices and platforms, and in particular for adolescents given their status as digital natives.

The second concerns the growing international and national recognition of a set of rights that correspond to this segment of the population, including that their opinions be taken into account and their participation in different areas of society be promoted.

The study focused on the period of adolescence between 12 and 17 years of age in eight cities of the country, where focus groups were held with adolescents.
