ANTV installs 5 thousand free DTT kits

Colombia. Bosa, a town in the Colombian capital, was chosen by the National Television Board, JNTV, as one of the 26 DTT Territories in Colombia. This is how this project will benefit the population of this area with the free installation of 5,000 DTT kits, which include a decoder and antenna, where the expectation is to favor about 20,000 people who do not have how to access subscription television and who are correctly enrolled in Sisbén 1 and 2.

This was announced by the director of the National Television Authority, ANTV, Ángela María Mora Soto, during the day of socialization of the project in the town, which began with a tour of the central area of Bosa, in order to verify first-hand the installation of the first kits of the project.

Additionally, and as part of the social responsibility actions carried out by the ANTV in each of the benefited territories, the Bosanova Educational Institution (primary headquarters) was visited, where 500 school kits (notebook, pencil and ruler), shirts to the little ones and soccer balls were delivered to the institution.

Later, to close with the day of socialization, a press conference was held at the House of Participation, where the members of the National Television Board in full, headed by the MINISTER OF ICT, David Luna; the mayor of the town, Javier Alba; different representatives of the community; and the director of the ANTV, Ángela María Mora Soto, explained to journalists and attendees the scope of the project, the way to access this television signal, the process of installing the kits and the relevance that it has for Bosa because it is located in the capital of the country.

According to Ángela María Mora Soto, director of the ANTV, "this is one of the most significant investments that the entity has made within the framework of the DTT Territories project, we mobilize our own resources for more than 10,000 million pesos. We know that television is the best entertainment that we Colombians have and with digital television for all what we want is to benefit those people who have never been able to enjoy this service. We already have 85% of population coverage with DTT, and we need people to know the benefits of this signal that is also free and start making use of it."

The ICT Minister, David Luna, said: "We make a great effort to make television every day of higher quality (digital terrestrial), and thus have a better image and sound. Many people still do not know how to use DTT and our task is to socialize this service. We think about quality, content, public and private television to offer better options."

The inhabitants of Bosa who acquire the decoder in the shops and authorized points of the city, will be able to enjoy 17 television channels in high quality: Channel 1, Institutional Channel, Señal Colombia, Channel 13 (with its two signals) Canal Capital, City TV, Canal El Tiempo, RCN (with its five signals) and Caracol (with four), plus 7 additional stations: Blu Radio, Radiónica, La FM, Radio Uno, La Kalle, Radio Nacional de Colombia and RCN La Radio.
