2018 Film Development Fund Competition Opens

Colombia. The National Council of Arts and Culture in Cinematography, CNACC, presented the 2018 Calls of the Fund for Cinematographic Development, FDC, of automatic stimuli and two (2) modalities of contest for a value of $ 6,435,500,000 million pesos.

As a novelty for 2018, the disbursement of the stimulus for distribution, marketing and advertising will be made in its entirety to the producer.

The calls approved by the CNACC and that will be available from January 2 are:
Automatic Stimuli
Opening date: January 2
Closing date: December 14

International Participation: $1,498,000,000
This category provides incentives to support the participation of Colombian projects and films in festivals, meetings, markets, workshops and film awards.

Feature Film Promotion and Box Office Performance: $3,907,500,000
Aimed at supporting the promotion stage of feature films of national production or co-production, whose minimum duration is 70 minutes, for its premiere during the year 2018 in cinematographic exhibition halls in the national territory. For this opportunity the resources will be allocated to the producer.

Distribution of Colombian films: $570,000,000
Aimed at distribution projects of Colombian feature films in the national territory, whose premiere in theaters is during the year 2018.

Incentives by competition
Opening Date: January 2
Closing Date: January 29

Training through film festivals: $400,000,000
Aimed at training projects through film festivals in the national territory to be held in 2018. They must contemplate at least one (1) section of exhibition of Colombian cinematographic works, regardless of their format, duration and / or theme, and that they carry out training activities around Colombian cinema.

Samples of Colombian cinema abroad: $60,000,000
Aimed at projects of circulation of Colombian cinematographic works in film exhibitions to be held outside the national territory, between January 2 and December 13, 2018 and with at least one edition made during 2017. They must contain at least seven (7) Colombian titles, regardless of their duration or their theme.

The launch of the remaining categories for the competition stimuli will be announced during the month of March within the framework of the Cartagena Film Festival, FICCI.
