Peru. The International Congress of Journalism, Radio and Television and Expotec Peru 2017 were completed with total success. More than 1,500 people, including businessmen, journalists and professionals from the radio and television industry, attended three days of day that took place at the Lima Convention Center.
The inauguration was in charge of the first vice president Martín Vizcarra Cornejo and the Vice Minister of Communications Carlos Valdez Velásquez-López. They were at the table of honor: Max Obregón Rossi, national dean of the College of Journalists of Peru, Susana Suárez Farge president of the Coordinator of Local Media (Medios Perú), Gilberto Hume Hurtado of the Association of DTT Broadcasters, Alex Samaniego of the Peruvian Chamber of Radio and Television, Demóstenes Terrones Fernández of the Peruvian Association of Cable Television (APTC). The presentation was given by Edgar Guevara, director of the Local Media Coordinator.
The central ceremony was also fulfilled with the delivery of awards and recognitions to the professionals and companies that stood out and contributed to journalism and broadcasting services.
The State and the media
The Deputy Minister of Communications, Carlos Valdez Velásquez-López, opened the exhibitions of the event and spoke about the advances and regulatory policies in broadcasting.
The BAR program (Updated Base of Broadcasters) was also presented to access state advertising and the main advertisers. This project for media eligibility will be reported in detail at a later date.
The closing ceremony was in charge of the premier and second vice president Mercedes Aráoz, who highlighted the respect for freedom of expression and called for compliance with the law regarding the contents broadcast by all television channels.
