Enacom participated in a conference on media content

Argentina. The directors of the National Communications Agency (Enacom), Silvana Giudici and Heber Martínez, participated in the conference "Dialogue on the protection of rights in the media", organized in conjunction with the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA).

The main topics on which the meeting revolved were the problematic consumption of substances, cybercrime, risks faced by children on the Internet, use of networks and measures to prevent the violation of children's rights and the vision possessed by the media, among other issues.

"By opening spaces for dialogue and taking the role of the State as articulator, we can achieve enormous progress. Therefore, it is important to listen to everyone's opinion to combat the gaps, which are not only digital but also cultural, and thus strengthen a society without inequality," said Silvana Giudici, director of Enacom.

The day was held on children's Rights Day, which celebrates the enactment of the law that brought into force in our country the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Along with the directors of Enacom, the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the UCA, Liliana Pantano, were speakers; Maria Jose Ravalli of UNICEF; Víctor Romero, from the Ministry of Security; Roxana Morduchowicz, advisor to Enacom; Nicolas Valsecchi, of Sedronar; and Luis Ibarra García, from the Advertising Self-Regulation Council; Gustavo de Dios, professor at the UCA.

In addition, journalists Fernando Menéndez (Telefé), Néstor Sclauzero (TV Pública), Lía Mormina (El Trece), Marcelo Antín (Canal 9), Mariano Yezze (América) and Luis Otero (El Trece) shared their experiences on TV newscasts.

The panelists agreed to privilege, before any debate, the right to freedom of expression in all its forms. From there, different cases and challenges were discussed when reporting on highly sensitive issues, such as the defense of people with greater vulnerability and the protection of the diversity of approaches.
