Brazil. With a positive expectation about the adoption of IP in the Latin American broadcast industry, Nicholas Ponomariv, sales director for Latin America and the Caribbean of Evertz, said in an interview with TVyVideo+Radio during the last edition of SET Expo.
He stressed that "on IP the market has already reached the stage of acceptance. He acknowledged that it is the next step for the industry and at the moment the companies are evaluating how soon they are going to implement it. Some at 100%, some half and others only the part needed to process two or three IP signals. In the interest of producing in 4K, it is necessary that all workflows are in IP."
And it has to be positive, since Evertz in Latin America and the Caribbean has had good results during the course of the year, with projects large and small.
One of the most recent is in Brazil, where they are working on the expansion of ESPN's IP project in São Paulo, which already has a part installed. With Claro Embratel Brazil they are also executing an expansion of their parent company. And with Globosat they are supporting their DreamCatcher repeat system and its growth.
At SET Expo, Evertz had more equipment than usually presents. Among them the Magnun and Vistalink control systems, the Insite analysis system, as well as its nuances of 12g, monitoring systems and IP switches.
