Mexico. SoundDevices, developer of cutting-edge technological tools for the capture and processing of professional audio, now has three distributors of its products in Mexico: Magnum, Representaciones de Audio and LAEquipment, said Gabriel Benítez, sales manager of the company.
"In Mexico, a change was made in the way we are distributing our equipment. Video products -VideoDevices- are handled by Magnum; the audio was split: Audio Representations will take the MixPre and distribute them in music stores; and for recorders 688 and 633 it will be LAEquipment. With this we will have more approach with customers, such as services, attention, response, presence and demos, "said the executive.
On the products presented during Expo Cine, Video y TV 2017, Benítez explained: "We are presenting the MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 products, which are ultra-compact audio recorders with audio streaming via USB, which offer several advantages: they occupy the microphone preamplifiers with the same quality as the 788T-SSD and other well-known SoundDevices recorders. What's new is that they're at a one-time price: the MixPre-3 costs $650 and the MixPre-6 costs $900, and there have never been SoundDevices recorders with preamps for less than $1,000. In general, in the world, these products are preferred by musicians, as people who make direct sound."
He added: "Another feature that makes this recorder stand out is that it has the USB interface. For someone who does reporting, using cameras and doing live streaming; the recorder is prepared to be mounted under a Sony DSRL camera and the way it comes configured from the factory is that it does not distort the preamp, since it has traditional analog limiters from SoundDevices, which for a person who is video and not very audio, can not ruin the audio. To be such a small team, it is very powerful."
