TV Vodafone will use the Kaltura TV platform

International. Kaltura announced that the renowned telecommunications company, Vodafone will use in its Vodafone TV service, the same set-top box used in Spain by the company, which allows its users to have a cross-device experience on their TV. This experience is reinforced by the quality of the Vodafone 4G network that will allow the set-top box with DVR connection in the cloud to use its state-of-the-art user interface.

Kaltura's new OTT service, says Ron Yekutiel, co-founder, president and CEO of Kaltura, "is the place where content really is king." Subscribers have access to a vast and constantly updated catalog with content that comes from different television services and OTT platforms that will be available in live options, VOD,  catchup, start over, cloud DVR, or in popular applications. Content libraries such as Netflix and Sky Italia Now TV are brought together with all TV channels for users to navigate in a unified and intuitive experience.

Using the innovative Kaltura TV platform, subscribers will be able to enjoy a new fully customized live and on-demand TV experience that includes advanced content discovery, favorites, cross-device interactions and the creation of preference lists. Kaltura's advanced business models will make it easier for Vodafone to offer new services, and the platform's flexible architecture will make it easier and simpler to expand Vodafone TV services when needed because it will update software online.

"Vodafone Italia introduced to the market one of the most ambitious and innovative services in the Pay TV market. We are very proud to have a global powerhouse like Vodafone using Kaltura technology as part of its quad-play strategy," commented Yetukiel and reinforced, "Kaltura proves once again its ability to implement in record time a Premium pay TV service for a Tier-1 customer."
