Latin America. Blackmagic Design announced a special promotion for Video Assist and Video Assist 4K devices that allows users to save $100 and $300 on the purchase of these monitors, respectively. Thus, the Video Assist model costs only $ 395, while the 4K version can be purchased for $ 595. Both products are available from all distributors of Blackmagic products, while stock lasts.
This promotion allows you to incorporate functions of recording and monitoring of contents to any type of camera that has SDI or HDMI connections. In turn, the reduction in price offers the possibility of acquiring one of these devices for each camera.
The Video Assist product line offers the opportunity to record and monitor images in a higher quality than is available on most cameras. Both those of more antiquity and traditional economic models pose certain disadvantages that limit their use in professional fields. The former use tapes or unsupported file formats, while the lower-priced versions have small screens and use formats that offer poor quality. Blackmagic's innovative devices solve such problems by providing compatibility with all types of models, from DSLR and older versions, which use tapes as recording support, to those more recent digital ones. Also, they not only allow you to monitor the contents, but also record in ProRes and DNxHR format with a quality of 10 bits.
On the other hand, the Video Assist 4K model has microphone inputs in order to record audio with exceptional quality. In addition, its next version 2.5 will include indicators that allow you to see the waveform, the chromatic components, the vectorscope and the histogram of the signal.
