Latin America. The design of Panasonic's AG-AC30 and AK-UC3000/HC5000 professional camcorders has been awarded an iF Design Awards 2017 for each of them. These awards, given by the International Forum Design, recognize the best of international design in different categories, from product or packaging, to architecture or communication concepts.
Designed by the Panasonic Corporation team, with Kazuki Masuda as project leader, the AG-AC30 (HC-PPV100) is a compact portable camcorder designed to meet the needs of video makers in developing countries. The equipment has a 29.5mm wide-angle lens with 20x optical zoom, an innovative integrated LED lamp, rings to manually operate the zoom, focus and iris, as well as an XLR port for microphone connection.
For its part, the AK-UC3000/AK-HC5000 models are camera systems for use in television broadcasts also designed by the Panasonic Corporation team, headed by Ryuichirou Hirose. The AK-UC3000 is a camera with 4K resolution, ideal for broadcast studios, live events or sports coverage, which has internal lenses designed to work with a large sensor to achieve a high sensitivity of F10 and signal-to-noise radius of 60dB+. In addition, it allows the transmission of 4K signal via optical fiber up to about 2kms. While the AK-HC5000 camera is useful for TV studios or sports for productions with HD 1,080p quality.
In addition to these two awards, Panasonic won another 20 iF Design Awards 2017, to add 22 in this edition. With this harvest, Panasonic reaches the cumulative figure of 230 iF Design Awards, which places it in the 5th position of the historical count.
The iF Design Awards 2017 were presented at an awards ceremony held on March 10 at the BMW Welt in Munich, Germany. In this edition there was the registration of 5,575 designs proposed by 2,500 participants, in 17 different categories, which were qualified by 58 members of an international jury that examines different points such as the quality of the design, level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, materials, finishes, ease of use, brand value and universal design.
