Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, agreed to extend the validity of several concessions to operate and commercially exploit sound broadcasting frequencies for commercial use, both in Amplitude Modulated and Frequency Modulated, to different concessionaires in different locations of the country, including some in Mexico City.
Likewise, seven concessions were granted to the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State for the provision of the public service of Digital Broadcasting Television, as well as three concessions for the provision of the public service of sound broadcasting in Modulated Frequency, all for public use with a validity of 15 years counted from the issuance of the corresponding titles.
Television concessions include the states of Hidalgo, Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Oaxaca, Puebla and Jalisco, while FM radio concessions are for the states of Puebla, Oaxaca and Veracruz.
In the same way, a concession was granted for the provision of the public service of digital broadcast television through channel 11 (198-204 MHz) to the University of Guadalajara, in Ciudad Guzmán and Zapotlán El Grande, in the state of Jalisco, with a validity of 15 years counted from the issuance of the corresponding title.
The Plenary also authorized Cultura y Comunicación de Zaachila, A.C., the transition to the concession regime for community social use and the respective single concession for community social use for the provision of the public service of sound broadcasting in Frequency Modulated, through the frequency 96.3 MHz, with call sign XHZAA-FM, with main population to serve in Villa de Zaachila, Oaxaca, valid until February 19, 2022.
