Colombia. 14 work crews duly identified with the logos of the National Television Authority, ANTV, and the Teleislas Regional Channel, will be responsible for initiating the installation of the 4,380 technological solutions to bring Digital Terrestrial Television, better known as DTT, to an equal number of homes on the Island of San Andres.
After filling the processes of training installers and contractual for the acquisition of decoders and antennas and hiring of personnel, everything is ready to start the final stage of this pilot shutdown plan that began in December of last year.
The installation works that begin today will be carried out by duly trained islanders who will have the task of leaving DTT running in the 4,380 homes, through the decoders and UHF antennas that will be supplied to each of the selected homes of strata 1.2 and raizales of the Island.
The director of the National Television Authority, Angela María Mora Soto, reminded the people of San Andrea that this installation process is part of the roadmap established by the entity for the expansion and appropriation of DTT throughout the country, and where San Andrés is an analog shutdown pilot. "This installation process is totally FREE, San Andresans do NOT have to pay absolutely nothing, the only task they have to do, is to open the doors of their house to the installers, who will be duly identified, and thus begin to enjoy the best image and sound of television."
According to the schedules foreseen by the technical team hired by Teleislas, the facilities will start in the San Luis sector, later, they will go to the Loma, and then to the center of the Island, hoping to finish the installation in the 4,380 homes approximately in the month of October of this year.
It is important to note that DTT, is the new way of watching television, totally free and with content in High Definition (HD, for its initials in English), is the transition from analog to digital television, with all the benefits and advantages that this technology brings.
