Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications granted the good pro for 36 broadcasting frequencies in thirteen locations in ten regions of the country, as part of the sector's policy of providing a greater offer and diversity of content of the FM sound broadcasting service.
The call for public tender included thirteen localities located in the departments of Amazonas, Ancash, Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Lambayeque, Lima, Madre de Dios and Moquegua.
For this contest, organized by the General Directorate of Authorizations in Communications of the MTC and the Committee appointed by the Vice Ministry of Communications, great importance was given to the border areas, rural areas and those located in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers – VRAEM.
The Deputy Minister of Communications, Javier Coronado, and the General Director of Authorizations in Telecommunications, Gloria Cadillo, highlighted the interest in the process, in which the 36 frequencies were awarded for a total amount of S /. 9,548,938.00.
The call was for 54 frequencies; 18 were deserted.
