Peru. On March 2, 3 and 4, 2017, the fourth edition of the International Radio and Television Technological Exhibition – Expotec Peru 2017 will be held, said Susana Suarez Farge, general manager of Peru TV Radios and president of the organizing committee.
The technological event that was held every year in the month of October, was postponed to March 2017, due to the electoral situation and the transition of a new government that will assume its functions only in July 2016.
In addition, in the projection of having greater participation on the part of the broadcasters and exhibiting companies, a study was made to determine the month that should be carried out, and among the options of March, June and October, 80% of the respondents approved that it be in March.
This decision also considered economic analyses and studies, which indicate that the Peruvian economy will resume its robust growth between the end of this and next year with the increase in copper production and a rebound in post-electoral investment, the same that will boost the economic recovery in the country.
Peru's Minister of Economy and Finance, Alonso Segura, said the economy will grow by as much as 4% in 2016 and 5% or more in 2017. Peru's GDP likely grew 2.9% to 3% last year, he said.
He added that companies are waiting for the result of Peru's presidential elections, to resume the repressed investment that will be "unleashed" after the inauguration of the new president. 2016 is an election year and "we have a lot of headwinds," but in 2017 Peru can "grow by 5% without any difficulty," the Economy Minister said.
