International. The Spanish Association of Scientific Cinema and Image, ASECIC, and the High Commissioner of the Government for the Brand Spain, have signed an institutional agreement. Its purpose is to show internationally the importance that the Spanish scientific audiovisual currently has in the world.
The signing took place on January 14, 2016 at the presentation ceremony in Madrid of the XXVIII edition of the International Biennial of Scientific Films (BICC) Ronda Madrid at the Museum of America. The event was attended by its partners, the Board of Directors, personalities of the collaborating entities, and the media.
The XXVIII edition of the BICC 2016 Ronda Madrid will be held within the framework of the 50th anniversary of ASECIC (the Spanish Association of Scientific Cinema and Image, 1966 - 2016). Since its origins, the ASECIC has been supporting the realization of the BICC Round; and since its XXVII edition in 2014 it has assumed its organization with a global Ibero-American projection thanks to the institutional support of UNESCO Multicountry Office in Central America and Mexico. In 2016 , UNESCO Audiovisuel e-plataform, the company Noosfera, has been incorporated and the collaboration of the Organization of Ibero-American States OEI is intended.
In addition to the signing of the inter-institutional agreement with the High Commissioner of the Marca España, the event screened the winning audiovisual work in the last XXVII BICC Ronda 2014, entitled "Wildmed the last Mediterranean forest", by Arturo Menor. For the presentation of the program of activities of the 50th Anniversary ASECIC and the XXVIII BICC 2016 Ronda Madrid was attended by representatives of the collaborating institutions: the IAMS, the mayors of the cities of Ronda, Arriate and Madrid, the UNICAJA Foundation, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the Museum of America.
Also present was Irina Belykh, Director of Programming of the Contemporary Science Film Festival ФAHK in Moscow, a festival invited to the XXVIII BICC Ronda 2016, and connected by videoconference with RedCLARA, from Santiago de Chile, an organization that allows the link with the different venues in Latin America.
