Colombia. With nearly 300 attendees, the three-day cycle for the presentation of Avid Media Composer 8.4 to the end user in Bogotá was finished, a day in which editors participated, who practically learned about the new features from the hand of the Senior Solutions Specialist for Avid Technology, Imanol Zubizarreta.
Attendees discovered how Avid allows you to acquire, manage, edit and deliver material faster and more efficiently, regardless of whether you work on-premises or in the cloud, thanks to new features:
- Edit 4K and other high-resolution content in native mode
- Working with Avid Resolution Independence
- Achieve better results with less bandwidth
- Play high-resolution camera files in native mode
- Produce an action with more details
- Produce more vivid and realistic images
- Eliminate waiting with background rendering and transcoding, among other features.
"Avid is not a publisher, it's a one-stop solution. The television that is generated in Colombia in 90% is worked in a Media Composer, so we wanted that the different users can take advantage of this opportunity so that their concerns are resolved by our experts. Although Avid is strong enough in our country, we think it is very important that users can get the most out of the tool," said Jesús Lozano, president of Videoelec.
The event was also attended by Eduardo Solana, Regional Sales Manager for Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Central America of Avid, who indicated that the company has a good reception in any of its presentations in Latin America, since these tools can be accessed from students to large production houses.
He indicated that this time they wanted to change the presentation format focusing on the end user, taking into account that people want to know what is happening in the world around 4K, Ultra HD, and how to work with the different formats of today under efficient workflows .
Jin Alfaro Sánchez, professional editor, highlighted that: "The good thing about the event is that we had an integration with Imanol, who showed us amicably the changes of the new version of Avid, solving the concerns with demonstrable examples and not only theoretical. This version is more friendly to the other capture formats and we can manipulate them easily without the fear of damaging them. It's a break for the post, plus seeing the pros and cons seemed great to me."
