International. Imagine Communications has supplied more than 50 Platinum IP3 multi-path routing switchers to broadcasters and installations in recent months. Specifically, the router is becoming the de facto standard in several new and updated outdoor transmission trucks across Europe.
Platinum IP3 is the latest evolution in Imagine Communications' Platinum router technology. Like the rest of the acclaimed Platinum lineup, the enterprise-scale IP3 router integrates mixed-format audio and video routing, copper and fiber inputs, and encoded signals such as audio AES and MADI, as well as multiviewers, frame synchronizing, and quality control.
Platinum IP3's control system enables SDN-IP hybrid infrastructures, offering a path to the full IP future alongside traditional broadcast audio and video, making it the ideal platform for transitioning broadcast networks and software-defined workflows.
Recent users include engineers from Dutch infostrada systems, who built the technical infrastructure for a major German reality show. Broadcasters SWR and Hessischer Rundfunk in Germany, Master Films in France and UK-based outdoor broadcast specialist CTV also upgraded their facilities with Platinum IP3. According to Fabio Bertini, owner and CTO of transmission production company Telecord, virtually all new outdoor transmission trucks built in Italy last year have Platinum IP3.
