Level 3 Supports Super Bowl XLIX Streaming

International. Level 3 Communications will be part of the television streaming video services to the NFL and NBC Sports for the Super Bowl XLIX presentation on February 1, as well as additional Super Bowl-related programming, using Level 3's Vyvx VenueNet+ technology. For the 26th consecutive year, Level 3 Communications is providing such services for the Super Bowl.

Level 3 will also make NBC broadcasts from downtown Phoenix, the days leading up to and on the day of the event. In total, more than 3,000 hours of video content will be purchased, encoded and transported over Level 3's Vyvx VenueNet+ platform as part of Super Bowl coverage.

Level 3's on-site equipment and connectivity give NBC an entirely diverse, end-to-end network service to ensure more reliability and control over the service delivery process. Level 3 will also provide NBC with the video transportation it requires to broadcast MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show from Phoenix in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Finally, Level 3 will provide Vyvx services to other NBCUniversal centers that will be in Phoenix during the week.

In addition to streaming the game, Level 3 will also bring pre- and post-game feeds to all NFL operations centers; NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey and NFL Network Studios in Culver City, California; NFL Network Master Control in Atlanta, Georgia, and other broadcast networks and satellite teleports for global distribution.

Vyvx VenueNet+ is part of Level 3 Video Cloud, which is a complete suite of IP video services designed to support content delivery throughout its entire lifecycle, from signal acquisition to streaming to viewers. Level 3 Video Cloud services include acquisition, encoding and transcoding of live videos, global delivery via Level 3 CDN, as well as comprehensive and self-service analytics, and reporting.
