Caper brought together industry highlights

Argentina. For three days, the most outstanding companies and professionals of the Latin American television industry met in Buenos Aires, in a new version of Caper. Obviously TVyVIDEO magazine was present and talked to some of them.

Ricardo Jimenez, Senior Sales Director Broadcast of Rohde & Schwarz for Latin America, commented that "we have been participating in the fair for seven consecutive years, to which visitors come from the southern cone and the region in general, it is a very active fair of the industry in the region. We bring to Caper several products from the broadcast industry chain, this time we bring a liquid  cooled FM transmitter."

He added that in Argentina they opened operations a year and a half ago to respond to the needs of the Southern Cone region and their technicians have been trained in Germany to give better support to consumers. In 4k technology they have a brand that works in production and that allows them to make a complete playout.

Brazil has become the cradle of important companies that manufacture technology for television. And they are determined to let the world know them. In Caper, 10 companies were present through the Brazil Pavilion, exhibiting the highest technology in products, solutions and services for the broadcasting sector. The exhibiting companies are: Alfred, Biquad, EiTV, Ibrasat, Playlist, Proeletronic, Tecsys, TQTVD, TSDA and Wimobilis.

The sectoral project has the support of the Federal Government, through APEX – Brazil, Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments, an organization directly related to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, and seeks to expand participation in the international market of Brazilian companies in the electro-electronic, exporting sector and with export potential, mainly through the increase in sales of items with greater added value.

For his part, Gustavo Brunser Senior Business Development Manager for Latin America of Adobe, mentioned that "we work with the large broadcasters of the television channels of the region and also of the film market that is growing in Latin America. The market is growing because the equipment required to make a short film is no longer as expensive as it used to be. Latin America is growing above expectations and we will continue to generate new projects."

In a preliminary balance, the president of Caper, Ricardo Solari, indicated that "109 exhibitors, 10 specialized media companies, two state companies proud of Argentina since they have put into orbit the Argentine satellite ARSAT1, a purely Argentine design. We bet on the future is to continue and try to improve ourselves in issues of state-of-the-art technology."

He also pointed out that historically they have had around 6,000 visitors and  for this year a similar figure. "This is a fair purely for the industry and closed to the general public."
