Colombia. With the presence of Steve Lampen, broadcast connectivity expert and manager of multimedia technology and entertainment product line of Belden, the company QParts held a training in Bogotá and Medellín aimed at broadcast companies.
Javier Acosta, Connectivity Manager of QParts, told TV and Video that the initiative arose around conversations with some users, about concerns in the choice of connectivity products and applications for broadcast. The idea was to provide customers with the possibility of clarifying technical concerns and consolidating the selection criteria in the connectivity options, in accordance with the technological changes present and projected in the broadcast universe.
Among the topics addressed, he highlighted: "Historical facts that allowed the development and invention of both coaxial and audio cables. Guidelines were explained to select the right cable according to the application and the project to be developed, which implies delving into the properties and characteristics both physical and technical of the cables. Tips were given for the optimization of the wiring work, in terms of laying and fastening the cables in the assemblies and projects".
The call was addressed to the technical and engineering staff of the different companies, both national channels and producers. In total during the four sessions carried out, approximately 100 people gathered.
Of the reason for the host cities, Javier Acosta said: "Bogotá and Medellín were chosen for their high concentration of users and for their easy access, since the invitation was extended to clients from all over the country, which allowed us to have a large attendance at the events held."
