Brazil. The regional news channel Rede Bahia adopted augmented reality functions for its virtual production of interactive graphics in its studio, through the virtual decoration program Wasp3D.
In this way the channel acquires the appropriate technology to produce a wide variety of shows and newscasts. The new system uses robotic third-party sensors to obtain the tracking data that allows free camera movement in the studio.
In addition, the system configuration process is easier and faster, due to the interactive WASPi Mimosa technology, which allows an option to activate the graphic information in virtual environment directly on the touch screen or using any tablet.
The first production made by Rede Bahia with the new system was the transmission of the results of the municipal elections in Brazil, in which virtual 3D graphics were implemented that allowed to integrate in real time the data that the regional authorities were delivering. This was complemented by the improved on-screen presentation by utilizing an analysis conducted through the iPad.
Flavio Marcio Mauro, Director of Technology at TV Bahia, said: "We chose the WASP3D solution after a thorough evaluation of the available products and were greatly impressed with the product's friendly design features, performance and technical support provided by the WASP3D team."
